Bonanza!

God’s Word:  Proverbs 20:21-30

God’s Message to Me:

A bonanza at the beginning is no guarantee of blessing at the end.  Too many times people let the bonanza’s of life direct their every move.  Unfortunately, these bonanza’s can sometimes be a curse in disguise.  How many people have been financially destroyed because they won big at the slot machines—and got themselves hooked on it.  A bonanza at gambling is always a turn down the wrong road.  Better to earn your money the honest way and not take the chance of destroying your life.

What started out as a bonanza can turn and become a curse.  Then you will be tempted to blame others and attempt to get back at them.  I implore you, let Me settle the score.  I hate cheating in the marketplace and will not let people get by with it forever.

Don’t let the hopes of a bonanza lure you into making an impulsive vow.  Later you will wish you could get out of it.  Don’t let every potential bonanza turn your head.  Use My wisdom to examine the “deal” and use caution in making decisions.

God’s Question to Me:  In looking back over your life at the Bonanzas how many of them turned bad for you?

God’s Promise to Me:  If you will ask Me for guidance in making decisions I will be with you and guard you from making bad choices.

My Song to God: Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus   by Helen H. Lemmel  1922

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are!

Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
