Preventable Deaths

Sterling Principle # 25

Proverbs 24:11-12baby

“Rescue the perishing; don’t hesitate to step in and help.  If you say, ‘Hey, that’s none of my business,” will that get you off the hook? Someone is watching you closely, you know—someone not impressed with weak excuses.”

The leading cause of illness related death in the USA is from heart disease—taking 610,000 lives annually. 100,000 die annually from gun related causes.  However 1.21 million babies die annually at the hands of their own mothers, by removing them from the womb.  Doctors do all in their power to help patients with heart disease.  Gun control folks do all in their power to help prevent deaths from guns.  Who is standing up for the 1.21 million deaths from abortion?

Those who benefit financially from abortions do all in their power to increase the number of abortions.  It is a well-known fact that Planned Parenthood encourages women to have abortions.  But who is standing in the gap for these babies destined for dismemberment?  Today’s passage certainly speaks to me about this travesty.  “Rescue the perishing; don’t hesitate to step in and help.”

Yes, it is my business to stand in the gap.  And it is your business too.  Turning our head the other way does not get us off the hook.  We cannot hide from God.  He sees our complacency and hears our weak excuses.  But we must do more than pray at abortion facilities.  We must get involved in the many wonderful abortion alternatives, pregnancy and healthcare centers where they offer these women support and help.  This is to truly “rescue the perishing.”

God’s Question: What are we doing to rescue these babies?

God’s Promise: I will not hold the shedder of blood guiltless!

My Prayer to God:

I praise You for the pro-life folks who stand up for You.

I am sorry I am not doing more to stand in the gap.

Thank You for touching my heart for these babies.

Help me wisely use my time to make a difference for You.
