Stepping Stones to Success

Sterling Principle # 20

Proverbs 24:3-4success

It takes wisdom to build a house, and understanding to set it on a firm foundation; it takes knowledge to furnish its rooms with fine furniture and beautiful draperies.

Before success come wisdom, understanding and knowledge.    Each is an important stepping stone to success.  Miss one of them and success will elude you.  You might have a good idea about building a house, or starting a business, but unless you are skilled in wisdom, understanding and knowledge, you will not succeed.

Wisdom is to possess keen insight into life and ways of dealing with problems.  Woven into wisdom is a code of moral conduct.  One who is wise will make decisions that are honest and just for all involved.  The wise one will not cut corners to save a dollar.  The ultimate path to wisdom is to ask for God’s guidance.

Understanding is the ability to judge a particular situation or subject. It is not a natural ability but one that has been sought out from many sources.  Understanding involves the cognitive, the spiritual, and the moral. While human efforts are called for, the ability to understand comes from God.

Knowledge is information or skill that you get from experience or education that enables you to make the rubber meet the road.  You know what needs to be done for a certain outcome.  But knowledge without wisdom and understanding will fail.  God made us that way and His Word was given to guide us along this path to success in life.

God’s Question: Have you asked for My help to succeed?

God’s Promise: I will help bring out the best in you.

My Prayer to God:

I praise You for sharing Your goodness with us.

I am sorry I am not more involved in sharing with others.

Thank You for Your presence that gives peace.

Help me follow Your path to success.
