The Latest and Greatest

Lessons for Living Today:

Someone is always offering us the latest and greatest product.  barley greenThey claim this product is the best discovery since sliced bread and will make all the difference in your life—your health.  They say we just don’t know what we are missing.  I call these claims the Barley Green wonder.  Whatever happened to all those amazing claims for Barley Green?  Now those same people are off onto the next latest and greatest.  And always, there is a multi-level marketing scheme involved.  I’m thinking their positive thinking applied here is what is making them feel so much better.

The best advice when hearing these claims is do your homework.  Study the products and compare them with products already available.  We often find their greatness is often just hype.  Take the same advice when hearing about the latest and greatest religious hype.  Do your homework by looking to God’s Word to see what He says about these things.  Many religious groups take God’s Word but add additional writings to slant teachings to their own satisfaction.  They deify men, who lived and then died, and follow them over God.

The Christian faith is based upon the Word of God alone.  These additional writings divide.  The Word alone unites.  If a religious group follows the writing of a person who is dead, be cautious.  He or she might have had some very good thoughts, but only those thoughts that are spot-on in agreement with the Bible are worth considering.  Jesus Christ is the only one who has ever sacrificed His life for the very ones who killed him.  He is the only one who returned to life and ascended to heaven to prepare a place for us.  There is no one later or greater than Jesus.  Do your homework and stick with the real thing.

God’s Question: Do you hold any higher than My son Jesus?

God’s Promise: My Word—the same yesterday, today & forever.

My Prayer to God:

I praise You for the clear superiority of Jesus above all.

I am sorry some completely missed your latest and greatest.

Thank You for those who shared Jesus’ Good News with me.

Help me eagerly share Jesus with others.
