Lessons for Living Today:
In order to make peace with God must we first make peace with our brother? To live in harmony with those we disagree with we suppose will bring peace on this earth. “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.” But how far can you take that thought? If we agree with God’s Word that murder or stealing is not okay then are we to live in harmony (peace) with the person who chooses that lifestyle? “While we can’t stop the birds from flying over our heads we can keep them from making a nest in our hair.” To live in harmony with sin we become part of the problem that God seeks to resolve.
As God’s ambassadors we are His peace representatives. Our goal is to help others find peace with God even in the midst of life’s storms. God’s peace is beyond comprehension. Consider Stephen, of Bible times, while being stoned for His faith in God prayed that God would forgive his killers. Consider Jesus, who died on a cross, and prayed with his dying breath for the forgiveness of his killers. That is true peace. That is the peace we offer to the world. Stephen and Jesus both died in their effort to make peace between mankind and God. To this day this is still happening.
How can we harmonize peace with the sin that surrounds us? Offer the world God’s peace, whether they accept it or not. God is the source of all peace and apart from Him there is no peace. We must not silently let sin reign but lovingly speak forth God’s truth that is the true path to peace. May our lives be like windows, where love can shine through, reflecting our Lord in whatever we do! To stifle God’s truth is not the path to peace. Embrace it, live it, share it, for in so doing we are harmonizing His peace with all.
God’s Question: Are you willing to stand up for My peace?
God’s Promise: Speak My truth and I am with you.
My Prayer to God:
I praise You for Your perfect peace.
I am sorry I don’t share Your peace more often.
Thank You for those who went before and set the example.
Help me offer others Your peace no matter the personal cost.
