Exodus 21: God gives Moses laws of protection for the people.
Lessons for Living Today:
No one wants to live in a lawless land. The purpose of laws is to protect the citizens. The laws in God’s Word are likened to the laws of gravity. This law is in effect whether you understand it or not. To ignore God’s laws carries the same consequences as the person who ignores the laws of gravity and walks off a cliff. As a child grows we share with them the laws of the universe. Hot hurts, cold freezes, animals bite, poison kills, hand’s are for helping.
God’s Word set the standard for all laws. As our Creator, He knows how we function at maximum efficiency, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. His laws lay the foundation for our best life possible. When we are ignorant of His laws we suffer in all areas of life. By embracing His laws we flourish. The difference between God’s laws and mankind’s laws is that God’s laws are infinite and man’s laws are finite. Man’s laws are set by mortals who are seeking to sustain self and they change as leaders change. God’s laws are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
The laws of mankind contain volume upon volume of minute rule upon rule upon rule. God’s laws are contained in one volume, the Bible, and are universal for every generation. In them we draw our strength, our guidance and direction for a fulfilled life. We do not have to fret should God change His mind and change His laws. To understand the laws of the land we have to have lawyers, who study the laws and explain them to us. Yet not all lawyers agree upon the interpretation. As we look to God’s laws of protection we find comfort and peace as His Spirit interacts with our spirits to instruct and guide under His protective hand of love.
God’s Question: Will you let My laws bless your life?
God’s Promise: I love you and will not change my mind.
My Prayer to God:
I praise You for Your amazing laws of love.
I am sorry I do not pass on Your love more generously.
Thank You for not giving up on me.
Help me to never give up on others but let love abound.
