All Aboard!

7 Jan

Genesis 7:7-10  Noah and his wife and sons and their wives boarded the ship to escape the flood.  Clean and unclean animals, birds and all crawling creatures came in pairs to Noah and to the ship, male and female, just as God had commanded Noah. Noah did everything God commanded.

Lessons for Living Today:

We owe our existence to Noah and his righteousness. Noah's arkAmid the sewer of violence that overtook the earth, Noah and his goodness was noticed by God.  If it weren’t for Noah, and his obedience to God, we would have all been doomed.  Building the ark was an all consuming task. What if Noah had been “too busy” to obey God?  Thank you Noah for obeying.

Each generation lays the foundation for the next.  What kind of foundation are you laying for your descendants?  It was Noah’s obedience to God that made the difference for all of humanity.  What about my obedience?  Does it make a difference for coming generations?  Am I “too busy” to share God’s promise of salvation with my family, my neighbors and my friends?  Who will be on the ark of salvation because of my obedience?

Obeying God is always the best idea for all generations.  We who know that are responsible to demonstrate that obedient living before others—just like Noah.  He set aside his own agenda and went with Gods—not even knowing the end result.  May all who come behind us find us faithful—may the fire of our devotion light their way.  May the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe, and the life we live inspire them to obey.  Thanks Noah for the example.

God’s Question: When My final “All Aboard” is called, who will be there because of your living testimony?

God’s Promise: Strength for the labor, light for the way.

My Prayer to God:

I praise You for giving me life through Noah’s obedience.

I am sorry I am not calling more to the Ark of Salvation.

Thank You for Your Word that reminds me to keep on.

Help me live in such a way as to draw others to You.
