Two Trees

31 Dec

Focus on God’s Word:   Genesis 2: 9  The Tree-of-Life was in the middle of the garden, also the Tree-of Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil.

God Speaks through His Word:

We were created with choice.  Two treesThe flow of our lives follows the paths of choice that we follow.  The Tree-of Life is the choice that we find within the Bible.  It leads to joy unspeakable, deep peace in the midst of unbearable pain and suffering, and a hope that cannot be quenched. Those who inhabit prisons have chosen the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil.

The greatest influences of choice are parents.  The Bible gives parents instructions about how to pass on the faith.  It says to train up a child in the way they should go.  How do we best train a child?  We set the example that extols the benefits and happiness of Tree-of-Life living.  Parenting is a great responsibility and one that requires focused attention.  Future generations depend upon how we parent our children.  Do they discover joy unspeakable through our reactions to life?

We are all imperfect parents and so often fail in relating to our children.  That is where the beauty of prayer for our children comes in.  We can’t be successful parents without God’s help, which we receive through prayer.  Never let a day go by without entreating God for help with raising our children—as His steward.  As we are given the world to be a steward of we are also stewards of the precious lives of our children.  The future of society lies within the boundaries of how we parent.  Let’s choose Tree-of-Life parenting.

God’s Question: What tree will you choose today?

God’s Promise: I will never leave you alone!

My Prayer to God:

I praise You for the Tree-of-Life living I saw in my parents.

I am sorry I don’t always make good choices.

Thank You for your willingness to help in my weaknesses.

Help me choose Tree-of-Life living and set a Godly example.
