God’s Word: Jude 1:1-4 (The Message)
God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)
What is grace? David described it in Psalms 103. “God is sheer mercy and grace; not easily angered, he’s rich in love. He doesn’t endlessly nag and scold, nor hold grudges forever. He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve, nor pay us back in full for our wrongs. As high as heaven is over the earth, so strong is his love to those who fear him. And as far as sunrise is from sunset, he has separated us from our sins. As parents feel for their children, God feels for those who fear him. He knows us inside and out, keeps in mind that we’re made of mud.”
Therefore, GRACE is My undeserved favor. I willingly share My grace with you in direct proportion to how you share it with others. Pretty simple really! As you share, I share. Are you easily angered? Do you endlessly nag and scold and hold grudges forever? Then you can expect the same treatment from Me. You cannot expect to receive grace from Me if you don’t amply apply it in all your relationships with others. Stop and think before you act—even think before you think about acting–season all your thoughts and words with grace. Treat all others as you hope I will treat you.
Sadly, many exploit My grace. They interpret My grace as a license to do whatever they so choose—disregarding the example and love of Christ. They hope My grace will overlook all their sin and they can indulge in whatever sort of perversity they so choose. “If it feels good do it” is their mantra—disregarding the consequences of their actions. Not only do they do this but they encourage others to follow in their steps. To clearly disregard My Words of the Bible is to be cut off from My forgiving grace. Instead, stand up for My lifesaving Words.
God’s Question: Have you too exploited My grace?
God’s Promise: It is by grace you are saved, through faith in Christ.
My Prayer to God:
I Praise You for your eagerness to share Your grace with me.
I am Sorry I am not more eager to share Your grace with others.
Thank You for Your Word that keeps me focused on You.
Please Help Me demonstrate your grace to those around me.
