True Colors Shine Through

God’s Word:  2 Corinthians 8:1-24 (The Message)

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Rainbows only show up on stormy days.  handsBlue sky days allow the beauty of the world around you to shine.  But when the day is gray and drizzly, the rainbow serves to remind you there is beauty in the midst of the storms of life.  Life’s storms bring out your true colors when you allow Me to be your source of strength and hope.  Happiness flows from a contented heart—not from an overflowing larder.  Therefore, pursue contentment in life and you will find your life overflowing with peace and joy that overshadows momentary happiness.

Seize the moments of your days and hold them captive.  Let go of the material things that attempt to seize you and hold you captive.  Your true colors show up when you are reaching out, beyond yourself, to be a blessing to another.  The heart regulates the hand.  Don’t consider for a moment what you don’t have but use what you do have fully.  Focus on what you can do, not upon what you can’t.  You will find there is far more you can do than you thought possible.  Each day of your life is My gift to you. Seize the moments by weaving My love for all into the fabric of that day.

I know you have many good intentions.  Don’t let them be crowded out by the daily pressures of life.  I planted those seeds of thought within your heart and am depending upon you to bring them to fruition.  True colors don’t shine through good intentions but deliberate deeds of kindness.  Today, take those ignored good intentions and make them shine.  Finish what you started lest the intentions grow stale and you no longer have any desire to complete them.  You have what it takes to finish so focus on what you can do today, not on what you can’t.

God’s Question: Have you let any good intentions lie dormant?

God’s Promise: Step out in faith and I will help you finish.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for the seeds of good deeds you plant in hearts.

I am Sorry I have ignored so many of those good seeds.

Thank You for Your Word that helps me get back on track.

Please Help Me finish what I start so You are glorified.
