Times of Refreshment

God’s Word: Romans 15:22-33 (The Message)

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Times of Refreshment can mean a lot of things.  photo (2)Some might refer to it as a cool drink on a hot day, or a hot drink on a cool day.  Others consider a vacation from work as their time of refreshment.  I challenge you to create for yourselves “times of refreshment” each and every day.  As you open My Word and interact with Me as you read, I will refresh your soul and give you encouragement for your daily path.  My Word is like no other in that My Spirit interacts with your spirit as you read.  It is your time of personal communion with Me.  I will open up to you windows of understanding that refresh more than the best vacation.

Your basic needs include refreshment. The cares of life can overwhelm and fill you with hopelessness.  My Word speaks to you personally in these times of need.  As you come to realize that I am with you always—your cares become easier to bear.  I specialize in giving hope in the midst of despair.  Take a vacation from the cares of life by opening My Word and interacting with Me.  You will realize refreshment that the world cannot give—whatever amount of money you are willing to spend.

You are my ambassador of refreshment.  Wherever you go there are desperate people who need encouragement and hope.  Keep your eyes and ears open and respond to their needs.  Their needs are My needs.  As you respond to them you are responding to Me.  As you give times of refreshment to others you receive even more refreshment yourself.  That is because I become involved in the interaction.  Therefore, pray as you go about your daily life—with eyes open to those who need a friendly smile, a kind word, a time of refreshing.

God’s Question: Who have you given a time of refreshment lately?

God’s Promise: As you give refreshment—you receive it too.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for Your refreshing Words of truth.

I am Sorry I don’t share Your refreshment more.

Thank You for reminding Me to be about your business.

Please Help Me care more about refreshing others than myself.
