Living Expectantly

God’s Word: Romans: 8:1-17  (The Message)

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Are you living under a continuous low-lying black cloud?  always-believeWhen Christ moves into your life it is like a magnificently strong wind clears the air freeing you from a lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.  Jesus came to earth, took on the human condition, entered the disordered mess of struggling humanity in order to set it right once and for all.  Many are challenged with making sense of life so they redouble their efforts to raise themselves up by their own bootstraps.  Jesus says “come unto Me and I will give you rest.”

You are of extreme importance to me friend!  To show you how vitally important you are Jesus died on a cross to pay the ransom price for your soul.  You do not have to work for your salvation—it is already paid for.  Simple accept what Jesus did for you and step into a life of expectant living.  No need to redouble your efforts, simply embrace what We are anxious to do through you.  You have been “gifted” according to your ability.  Not only did I “gift” you but I prepared in advance tasks for you to do, using those abilities I “gifted” you with.

Obsession with self, your own desires and wishes is a dead-end life.  Instead, by taking your focus off yourself and putting it on using the abilities I “gifted” you with to bless others—ahhh, now that is really living.  I beckon you to come follow Jesus example, living expectantly and adventurously.  When you focus on how you can make your life better you lose sight of My best for your life.  I am searching for those who will serve as My ambassadors of good will to the world that is hurting.  Where there are black clouds, bring a ray of sunshine and hope.  Leave self behind and expect Me to empower you—for I will.

God’s Question: Is what’s “on your plate” for self or others?

God’s Promise: I will show you a life you didn’t know existed.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for Your power at work in even me.

I am Sorry I too often obsess about myself.

Thank You for leading me on Your path.

Please Help Me be Your faithful ambassador to others.
