Who is Your Worst Enemy?

God’s Word: Romans 7:1-25   (The Message)

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

You are bombarded from every side with invitations to join or participate or purchase something. myths_about_alcoholics Companies spend millions of dollars to draw you in—and it works—time after time.  They glamorize what it is you would like until you are willing to sacrifice anything to have that which they have made so appealing.  Relationships thrown on the trash heap of ignored promises, homes destroyed because of the poor choices of the inhabitants, and lives end in ruin and disaster when temptations overpower your common sense.  People are looking blame someone when really they are their own worst enemy.

You try to do better and time after time you find yourself lower than you were the time before.  Is there no relief?  The very things you don’t want to do—that you do.  Those things that you really want to do—are left undone. Let Me remind you that you could never do enough “right” things to satisfy Me.  Day after day you fight temptations, trying to do what is right, but that doesn’t impress Me.  I already know you can’t win this war!  That is why Jesus came to earth to show you how to live for others, then died, in your place, to make up for your failures.  He takes your struggles and sins and simply forgives!

That is it!  The solution to your dilemma is Jesus’ forgiveness.  He looks at those who turn to Him in belief “just as if you never sinned.” You might think you are at the end of your rope but reach out to Jesus, He will hold on to you.  You don’t have to keep struggling to keep your head above water because He will put His life-saving vest on you securely.  The result is peace in any storm you may face. The enemy you faced was your own desires and Jesus will set you free!

God’s Question: Will you let Me fight your battles?

God’s Promise: It is allegiance not perfection I desire.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for the freedom or guilt You give me.

I am Sorry I don’t rest in Your peace more.

Thank You for being my defender and peace-giver.

Please Help Me share Your good news throughout my life.
