Throw Open The Door

God’s Word: Acts 14:21-28

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Closed doors exclude—open doors invite.  Open doorDoes your life exclude others or invite them into relationship?  Relationships are the spice of life.  Take a look at your life.  What relationships are in place?  How are you a blessing to those in your circle?  Jesus set the example to be a blessing and left you with instructions to bless others by throwing open the door to step into the family of God.  I am relational and invite all into relationship.  You are My instrument of invitation.  If you aren’t inviting, I am not inviting.

Examine the front door of your life.  Is your focus upon what is on inside, on those things you accumulate to better your own life?  My call upon you is “throw open the door” and invite others to share in your life. How can you do that?  There are so many ways—you begin with your interests and passions.  I gifted you with those desires so you could use them to bless others.  Are you?  Find ways to use what you know, and what you have, to invite others into relationship.  They will never know how much I love them until they see your love expressed.

What comfort have you received from Me?  I did not comfort you merely for your own comfort, so you could be comfortable, but so you would become a comforter to others.  Instead, many close the door of their lives and wrap themselves in comfort and ignore the rest of the world.  Jesus life was not lived in comfort, though He had complete power to live that way.  No, He gave up His own comfort to become My comforter.  He did it for you and charges you with doing it for others.  Throw open the door of your life and be My comforter.

God’s Question: Who is comfortable today because of your comfort.

God’s Promise: As you comfort others—so shall I comfort you.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for Your amazing comforting peace.

I am Sorry I don’t share your comfort more.

Thank You for Your wonderful word through which You speak.

Please Help Me get out of my comfort zone for Your sake.
