The Whisperers

God’s Word: Acts 14:1-7

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

For every person who rejoices—there are those in opposition. whispering Most of life’s disagreements surround “who is king of your mountain.”  If a person is successful others are jealous.  Jealousy behaves much like cancer.  Once a small amount of jealousy makes a nest in your heart—it takes over.  Reason flies out the window–wrong becomes right and right becomes wrong.  The cancer of jealousy spreads via the whisperers  As it spreads it grows and is soon magnified out of proportion.  Everyone has fallen prey to this cancer of jealousy.

The free-will I gave you is often your biggest downfall.  When free to choose your choices often go with the flow of what is biggest and best for self.  When another has something bigger and better, the whispering begins.  In your world today the whispering is now done openly and regularly through the media available.  Papers, magazines, the internet and phones are the lifeline of whispering.  There are no checks and balances to truth anymore.  Everyone wants in on the latest gossip.  And the words heard most often are “have you heard. . . .?”

I have called My people to refrain from listening or passing on whispering.  But you are sucked into it so often and so innocently.  In today’s passage the whispering began because of jealousy of someone else’s success.  It happened in Bible times and it happens today.  Wars are fought over whispering magnified.  You must take every precaution against getting caught up in whispering.  You expect my unconditional forgiveness but you are unwilling to forgive others.  It simply doesn’t work that way.  Your treatment of others is your request for Me to give you the same treatment.

God’s Question: Will you refuse to jump on  the whispering bandwagon?

God’s Promise: As you sow, so shall you reap.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for Christ’s pure example for living.

I am Sorry I allow myself to join in whispering.

Thank You for helping me realize the sin of gossip.

Please Help Me use Your wisdom to squelch gossip.
