Rubbing Shoulders

God’s Word: Acts 11:1-26

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

When rubbing shoulders with others who is rubbing off on whom? helping-othersMy best advice is rub shoulders with everyone you come in contact with.  Learn all you can from others and share all you know with still others.  Be cautious that whose you are learning from have My stamp of approval—that their foundation of life is based upon My Word.  Then you too can build upon that foundation and bring others in on the building project.  What we are building here is life—life abundant here and now that lays a foundation for life eternal.

What will others gain by rubbing shoulders with you?  Will you build them up or tear them down?  Let all of My goodness that you have received rub off on others.  In being patient and kind with others you are showing them how to be patient and kind with still others.  In encouraging others to build their lives upon the foundation of My Word you are enabling them to encourage others in the same way.  Whatever rubs off on others from exposure to you—should bless their lives in some way.  Not only bless their lives for the present but for eternity.

Strong communities and strong nations are built when My people rub shoulders with their neighbors.  This is the only way to share My good news of salvation through Jesus sacrifice.  Be sure that what others are receiving from rubbing shoulders with you will build them up and point them to Jesus.  Encourage, love, be joyful, kind, good, and full of long-suffering.  Do not seek to rub shoulders only with those that can benefit you but seek to be of benefit to others—an eternal benefit.

God’s Question: Who is glad they rubbed shoulders with you?

God’s Promise: By building your life on the foundation of My Word you are

creating some mighty shoulders to rub off on others.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for giving me great shoulder rubbers.

I am Sorry I too often turn a shoulder rather than rub.

Thank You for this lesson on rubbing shoulders.

Please Help Me bless others whom I rub shoulders with.
