What you Leave Behind

God’s Word: Acts 9: 32-43

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Look into the future and imagine what people will say about you at your funeral.  wateringConsider who will even attend?  And who would so care about you that they would stand to tell of what you meant to them?  Are the words and deeds of your life such that their impact will outlive your earthly life?  Will you be remembered as one who was well-known for doing good and helping others out?  Will your absence even leave a void?  My true ambassadors will leave a huge void when they depart for heaven.

Therefore, your mission on earth is to come to know Me personally and make Me known to others.  The best way to do this is NOT by attending funerals with signs condemning people to hell.  The best way is by reaching out to all others with My love and compassion. Jesus spent His life reaching out to the outcasts.  What are you investing your time in doing?  Building your own portfolio to make you look good or helping others come to know Me which will give them peace in this life and eternity with Me to look forward to.

This world is not your home—you are only passing through.  While here you are on mission for Me.  What you leave behind depends on your daily interactions with others. Spreading love, joy, peace, patience, understanding, gentleness, longsuffering, etc. are the things that make a life-changing difference.  To the level you live out these qualities, I in turn offer the same to you.  My treatment of you will be no better than your treatment of others.  The ball is in your court. My best advice is to leave behind redemptive relationships with others.  That is the only thing you can take with you to heaven.  All else just clutters up your life.

God’s Question: Who will be in heaven because of your influence?

God’s Promise: By blessing others you bless yourself.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for this simple principle of building relationships.

I am Sorry I don’t focus more on relationships.

Thank You for opportunities to touch others lives.

Please Help Me by Your faithful ambassador of mercy.
