God’s Word: Acts 2:1-47

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

50 Days after Jesus resurrection I chose to announce Him as Messiah—meaning “God with us.”torch Jews, from all over the known world, were gathered in Jerusalem for the Jewish celebration of Pentecost.  These people spoke a great variety of different languages.  This was the day I chose to announce to them that Jesus was indeed the Messiah for whom they had been waiting.  To get everyone’s attention I caused the sound of a mighty wind—minus the wind.  They came running to see what was happening.  Through my Holy Spirit I empowered the Apostles to speak in the languages of all these people.

These Jews were awestruck to hear their mother tongues from these men who knew not their tongues.  Peter stood up and explained to the people what was happening. He reviewed the miracles and wonders Jesus had performed, plus his death at the hand of the Jews and his resurrection power.  He explained that hearing this message in their mother tongues was none other than God’s supernatural doing. “Know this,” Peter said, “there’s no longer room for doubt—God made Jesus Master and Messiah, this Jesus you killed on a cross.”

The Jews hearing this were cut to the quick and said “Brothers, so now what do we do?” Peter replied, “Change your life.  Turn to God and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so your sins are forgiven.  Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  That very day about three thousand took him at his word, were baptized and signed up to be ambassadors of Jesus—spreading this good news wherever they went. You who are reading this word today are benefactors of these Jewish people faithfully spreading the news.  And now—the torch is in your hands.  Spread My Word—do not let the torch be extinguished.

God’s Question: Who believes in Me because of your testimony?

God’s Promise:  The good news of Jesus cannot be extinguished!

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for those who taught me the good news of Jesus.

I am Sorry I have failed to teach as many as I could have.

Thank You for this reminder to be about spreading Your Word.

Please Help Me to devote my life to be Your Ambassador.
