The Master Teacher

God’s Word: Luke 24:13-32

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Everyone loves to sit at the feet of a master teacher. master teacher Jesus was such a teacher.  Listeners commented that they “felt on fire” as he conversed with them.  In this passage Jesus had been crucified and raised alive.  Two of his followers were walking down the road, looking like they had lost their best friend, when Jesus joined them.  They didn’t recognize him so he asked them why the long faces.  They shared the story about Jesus life and death and their hopes that he was the Messiah, the deliverer of Israel.

The master teacher went into high gear.  He began with the books of Moses and went through all the books of the prophets, pointing out everything in the scriptures that referred to the coming of the Messiah. The two men were awe-struck at what they were hearing from this master teacher that they didn’t even recognize.  They invited him home to eat with them and soon after eating he disappeared from their sight.  Only then did they realize that it was Jesus and they were up and out of there, going to share this with their friends.

What makes a master teacher? A master teacher is thoroughly absorbed in what they teach.  They live it.  They look at their students as having potential and they inspire potential.  They make achievers out of ordinary people.  Master teachers do not live “above” their students but consider themselves the servant of their learners.  Jesus, as master teacher, focused His efforts on creating unity between God and mankind.  He sacrificed His very life to create such unity.  He lived a life of sacrifice for His students, all of mankind, and taught that the way to serve God is to serve others.  He set the example for master teachers.

God’s Question: Do you realize your great potential?

God’s Promise: As you speak up for Me, I am with you.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for Jesus, the master teacher.

I am Sorry I do not devote more effort to teaching about Jesus.

Thank You for inspiring me to inspire others for You.

Please help me follow Jesus example of living to serve others.
