God’s Word: Luke 17:20-37
God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)
There will always be people predicting when Christ will return and the world as you know it ends. When you hear that you will know for sure it WON’T be at that time—for no man knows the day nor hour. Don’t these doomsday prophets even read the Bible? And someone who claims to be a prophet and is wrong—should forever be disregarded. But still they go on predicting and collecting a following of foolish people. Usually these false prophets have some ulterior motive—whether it is notoriety or money. Ignore them!
The calendar has nothing to do with Christ’s return. It will be as in the days of Noah. Mankind were all seeking their own good, not caring about their neighbors, or God. I sent Noah to warm them of impending doom in the flood but they would not listen. They would not interrupt their life-style to even listen. Wickedness was rampant. They did not heed the wake-up call I gave them and they died because of their foolishness. They were so busy planning their sinful calendars that they did not realize their planning was to no avail.
People, I encourage you to put first things first in your life. If you grasp and cling to life on your terms you will lose it all. My terms have been clearly laid out in the Bible. Grasp and cling to My Word which teaches how to live in complete joy and thanksgiving. Life, on My terms is all about loving others following Jesus example of sacrificial giving. That is the kind of love that endures through eternity. Don’t worry about what tomorrow’s calendar may bring or not bring. Rejoice in all you have today and willingly share it with others.
God’s Question: Whose terms are you living your life on?
God’s Promise: Christ gave you the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
My Prayer to God:
I Praise You for Christ’s sacrifice to show us the Way to You.
I am Sorry I just don’t live as sacrificial as You want me to.
Thank You for not giving up on me but showering me with mercy.
Please help me show mercy and sacrificial love to all others.
