No Religious Masks

God’s Word: Luke 12:1-12

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Watch yourself carefully so you don’t become a religious phony! phony Don’t try to appear “holier” than you really are.  Don’t be one person to the public and another person at home.  You can’t keep your true self hidden forever.  You do Me a great disservice by appearing to be righteous before the public when it is all done for show.  People will judge my honesty by yours.  I’m sad to say there are those who hide behind a religious mask in order to promote their own, less than holy agenda.

A person’s true self is shown when they practice what they preach.  Never say one thing and do another.  How would you like it if I could not be trusted to do what I say I will do?  So speak up boldly on My behalf but only if you can back up your words with your living.  And when you speak up for Me do it with love and compassion.  Then demonstrate that love and compassion in your actions.  Lead by example or you are a phony just wearing a religious mask.

When you go forth as My ambassador—do it boldly but with loving compassion.  Speak the truth from My Word with love or don’t speak it at all.  More harm’s done to My cause by religious phonies than can be counted.  Because I look at those who have come to Me in faith as perfect—by removing all sin from their account—some may get to thinking they are “perfect.”  Not so!  No one is perfect, save for My forgiveness.  Remember that how you treat others is telling Me how you wish Me to treat you.  You count on Me treating you with love and justice but are you treating others that way?  You cannot receive from Me what you refuse to give to others.

God’s Question: Will you refuse to hide behind a religious mask?

God’s Promise: My Word will never fail!

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for your love and mercy shown to me.

I am Sorry I am not as loving and merciful as You.

Thank You for Your Word that gives me guidance and joy.

Please help me live honestly and openly before all.
