Keep Your Eyes Open

God’s Word: Luke 11:29-36

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

Keep your eyes open—living expectantly because I long to move in and through your life this very day. Eyes open I charge you to carry My light of understanding and compassion into your daily life.  My light is to be shared with others—not concealed and kept to yourself.  Live wide-eyed in wonder, anticipating where I am leading you today.  Let the light of My love lead you, believing that you are My messenger with a message of hope and compassion for another—for you are.

What comforts are you enjoying today?  Don’t hoard them but openly share them—for that is their intended purpose.  Don’t close the eyes of your heart to the needs around you.  The comfort with which I have wrapped around you today is the very comfort that another person needs.  Never turn away from a need of another because of unwillingness to share of your own abundance.  As you wish for Me to keep My eyes focused on you and your needs—My call for you is to keep your eyes focused on others and their needs.

To close one’s eyes to the needs of others is to live in a dark and dank cellar.  When you only focus on your own self and needs you become selfish, unfriendly and cold.  Open your eyes wide to what is happening around you and how you can fit into the needs of the hour.  Don’t leave the sharing for others—with more money or time.  I put you in the very place you are today for a purpose—that of being My hands and feet of love and mercy to another.  Let My light shine!

God’s Question: Will you put your focus off self and onto others?

God’s Promise: Abundant blessing go to those who share themselves.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for sharing the light of Your love with me.

I am Sorry I have hoarded that light way too many times.

Thank You for giving me another chance to shine for You.

Please help me let Your light shine through my life today.
