Retreat up the Mountain

God’s Word: Luke 9:28-36

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

When your world is crumbling around you—retreat up the mountain of prayer.  V & E mile highThat is just what Jesus did when He needed time for focused prayer.  When you draw near to Me, I draw near to you and meet your need of a new perspective.  Sometimes you may think your need is “things” or “solutions” but as you draw near to Me I will reveal your real need and satisfy you.  Yes, even in the midst of life’s storms I will be your safe anchor. You may think you need deliverance but I may show you what you really need is peace in the midst of the storm.

As you go through life, enjoying yourself and having good fortune you often forget all about Me.   Your times of drawing near to Me are few and far between.  It is during your times of deep need when you earnestly call out to Me and I draw near with just the help you need at that very moment.  If you will just “be still and know that I am the God who loves you.” My deep peace can be yours in the face of any disaster or calamity.  Uncontrolled fright causes you to do many foolish things.  Come to Me when you are heavy burdened and I will give you rest.  I do not force the rest upon you—you must accept it, believe Me, and feel the warmth of My presence in your heart.

I do not cause calamity in your life—it is the result of various forces colliding.  I set the laws of nature in motion and as they work for your good almost all the time—these very laws at times collide and cause disaster.  You must accept the good as well as the bad.  Praise Me in the good and retreat to the mountain of prayer when times are bad.  There is no bad that can overtake you that I cannot give you peace through it all.

God’s Question: How can I help you today?

God’s Promise: Nothing can separate you from My love.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You that you are the great peace-giver.

I am Sorry I have wasted any time ever fretting.

Thank You for Your promises that are eternal.

Please help me live trusting completely in You.
