Looking for Fault

God’s Word: Mark 12:13-17

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

There are many whose mindset is “my mind is made up, don’t confuse me with facts.”  looking for faultThey set out to “trip-up” and construe the one they are convinced is wrong.  Even if they are unable to trip him up they will not change their mind.  When you think good of a person, no amount of fault-finding will convince you otherwise.  When you think ill of a person, no amount of proof will convince you otherwise.  All this happens because mankind fails to live by My Word which teaches love, forgiveness and treating others as you wish to be treated.

Examine “why” you feel for or against another.  It might be the way the look, walk, or talk—nothing whatsoever to do with their true worth.  Another big reason people are against someone is because of jealousy.  If someone is drawing a crowd then the nay-sayers think they must be doing something devious—really just because they are jealous that they aren’t drawing a crowd.  Jealousy is a wicked emotion that ruins many good people.  This is what is happening in today’s passage.  Jesus was drawing crowds away from the religious leaders of the day.  Instead of listening and perhaps getting on board—they let jealousy dictate their words and deeds.

What about you?  Do you listen to the nay-sayers instead of getting the facts for yourself?  Do you let jealousy twist your thinking one way or the other?  May I direct you back to the Bible where you will find the path to peace between people laid out.  Love and forgiveness go a long way to helping mankind get along in peace.  Don’t think ill of others or pass along negative information you have no way of checking out.  Look for the good and expect the best in one another.

God’s Question: Will you encourage and build up others today?

God’s Promise: As you treat others, I must treat you.

My Prayer to God:

I Praise You for reminding me to be an encourager.

I am Sorry I can so easily get drawn into negative talk.

Thank You for pointing the path to peace through Your Word.

Please help me follow your path and not turn away.
