The Great Roundup

God’s Word: Matthew 25:31-46

God’s Message to me: (My interpretation of what God is saying in these verses)

When Jesus returns for the final roundup there will be some surprises in store for many.roundup All nations will be judged by the same universal standard.  “Jesus takes your treatment of others personally.”  To accept Jesus forgiveness is to take on His mission.  His mission is to share His message of salvation to the far corners of the earth.  And how is that accomplished?  By feeding the hungry, the thirsty, the homeless, the sick, those in prison and those in need of clothing and shelter.  Until people see how much you care, they have no ear to listen to your message of salvation through Jesus.

Salvation has a Siamese twin called “service.”  Jesus spent His earthly life demonstrating this service and died to provide salvation.  You cannot accept His salvation without picking up His mantle of service.  Those who think salvation means you attend church every Sunday and pay your tithes may be disappointed when the great roundup takes place.  Christianity is not a state of being but a demonstration of service.

To “serve” another is to “serve” Jesus.  Deeds done to bless another human being are the same as doing that deed for Jesus.  The simplest acts to perform just may be the most important in life.  Serve a meal—to Jesus, give a drink—to Jesus, provide a room—for Jesus, share your clothes with Jesus, and visit the sick and those in prison— as though it were Jesus. In the great roundup deeds of service are supreme.

God’s Question: What have you done for Jesus today?

God’s Promise: “Whenever you offer acts of service to someone overlooked or ignored, that was Me—you did it to Me.”

My Prayer to God

I praise You for this wonderful way to worship You.

I am sorry I get too occupied with my own needs.

Thank You for showing us the way to service.

Help me be Your willing servant to others.
