The Victory Secret

21 Feb

God’s Word:  Matthew 5:48 Jesus said, “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up.  You’re kingdom subjects.  Now live like it.  Live out your God-created identity.  Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.”

Jesus’ Message to Me: (My interpretation of what Jesus is saying in these verses)

These verses Matthew recorded are My gift to guide you along the path to victory.Victory  But they must become part of your life—not just verses to read occasionally and appreciate.  They will help you live in victory.  Only then can you come to understand how deep the Father’s love for you is.  As you reach out in love to others—God’s love is revealed and made evident to you.

Kingdom subjects live out their God-created identity.  That means stepping up to the plate and accepting your lot in life and giving of yourself to be a blessing to those around you.  Be generous with those who have needs.  Be gracious when others are not gracious toward you.  Kingdom subjects have God’s power and presence and that is the secret to victory.

It is no secret, what God can do.  What He’s done for others, He’ll do for you.  But he isn’t going to do anything against your will.  My task in coming to earth was to live out His love so the world could see how God would have everyone live their lives.  Once you see My love fleshed out you will “catch it” and live to pass on that love.  Victory in life isn’t about personal success.  It is about helping others who have a need that you can fill.

Jesus’ Question for Me: Is your life a reflection of the victory God provides as you walk in His steps?

Jesus’ Promise to Me:  I will accompany you on to victory.  Don’t keep it a secret—share the good news.

My Prayer to God:

I praise You for coming to earth to show us how to love others.

I am sorry for making so many self-centered choices in life.

Thank You for Your abiding presence to guide and help.

Help me to follow Your guidance and be a living

Testimony to Your love and grace.
