Boomerang!

God’s Word:  Proverbs 21:9-31

God’s Message to Me:

When a bad person plots against the good, boomerangs; the plotter gets it in the end.  Wicked souls love to make trouble; they feel nothing for friends and neighbors.  If you stop your ears to the cries of the poor, your cries will go unheard, unanswered.  You’re addicted to thrills? What an empty life! The pursuit of pleasure is never satisfied.

When a good person does good for their enemy, boomerang, they will soothe an irritable person and cool a hot temper.  When you treat others as you wish they would treat you, you will find the boomerang of good treatment comes back to you.  But what if they still respond with anger and meanness?  Does that free you from treating them the way you wish to be treated?  Of course not.  Never give up doing what is right!

Remember, to do a favor for another is the same as doing a favor for Me.  Likewise, to do harm to another is the same as doing harm to Me.  When all is said and done, the boomerang that really counts is the one I give back to you.  As you sow, so shall you reap!  No kindness, nor any wicked actions go unnoticed by Me.

God’s Question to Me:  Will you keep in mind that whatever you do unto or for another person you are actually doing to Me?

God’s Promise to Me:  Because no one is able to live a sinless life Christ willingly took your punishment on the cross so that the boomerang that comes back to you is forgiveness.

My Song to God:             Help me to live for others      by Charles D. Meigs  1917

Lord, help me live from day to day
In such a self-forgetful way
That even when I kneel to pray
My prayer shall be for—Others.

Refrain

Others, Lord, yes others,
Let this my motto be,
Help me to live for others,
That I may live like Thee.

Help me in all the work I do
To ever be sincere and true
And know that all I’d do for You
Must needs be done for—Others.

Refrain

Others, Lord, yes others,
Let this my motto be,
Help me to live for others,
That I may live like Thee.

Let self be crucified and slain
And buried deep: and all in vain
May efforts be to rise again,
Unless to live for—Others.

Refrain

Others, Lord, yes others,
Let this my motto be,
Help me to live for others,
That I may live like Thee.

And when my work on earth is done,
And my new work in Heav’n’s begun,
May I forget the crown I’ve won,
While thinking still of—Others.

Refrain

Others, Lord, yes others,
Let this my motto be,
Help me to live for others,
That I may live like Thee.
