Refracted Beauty

29 Jun

God’s Word:  Proverbs 17:1-16

God’s Message to Me:

Consider a rare gemstone with many cuts to show off its beauty.  Any way you look at it you see beauty refracted.  Even in the refracted distortion there is beauty.  When I created mankind I created a thing of amazing beauty—inside and outside.  Undisciplined, mankind is like the gemstone in the rough, before the cuts are made to bring out beauty.

The pain of trials is the trimming off the rough surface to bring out the beauty.  If you resist the trials and rebel, the cuts will be jagged and the beauty I had planned for you will be distorted.  But even in the distortion beauty can be refracted—it all depends upon how you choose to react to the trials.  The wise person accepts the trials and grows more beautiful as life goes on.

You are My gemstone—my gift to your world.  Whatever happens in your life, draw near to me and I will draw near to you and together we will polish your beauty to bless your world.  So live that from whatever circumstances people view your life they will see refracted beauty.  The beauty of kindness, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, joy, which can shine through your life—no matter the circumstances.

God’s Question to Me:  Will you allow Me to bring out the beauty of your brilliance for the world to be blessed?

God’s Promise to Me:  When the thought comes that “this isn’t fair’ know that your beauty is being refracted and I am with you through it all.

My Song to God:    Through it all       by Andrea Couch
I’ve Had Many Tears And Sorrows,
I’ve Had Questions For Tomorrow,
There’s Been Times I Didn’t Know Right From Wrong.
But In Every Situation,
God Gave Me Blessed consolation,
That My Trials Come To Only Make Me Strong.

Chorus:
Through It All,
Through It All,
I’ve Learned To Trust In Jesus,
I’ve Learned To Trust In God.

Through It All,
Through It All,
I’ve Learned To Depend Upon His Word.

I’ve Been To Lots Of Places,
I’ve Seen A Lot Of Faces,
There’s Been Times I Felt So All Alone.
But In My Lonely Hours,
Yes, Those Precious Lonely Hours,
Jesus Lets Me Know That I Was His Own

Chorus
Through It All,
Yhrough It All,
I’ve Learned To Trust In Jesus,
I’ve Learned To Trust In God.

Through It All,
Through It All,
I’ve Learned To Depend Upon His Word.
I Thank God For The Mountains,
And I Thank Him For The Valleys,
I Thank Him For The Storms He Brought Me Through.
For If I’d Never Had A Problem,
I Wouldn’t Know God Could Solve Them,
I’d Never Know What Faith In God Could Do

Chorus:

Through It All,
Through It All,
I’ve Learned To Trust In Jesus,
I’ve Learned To Trust In God.

Through It All,
Through It All,
I’ve Learned To Depend Upon His Word.
