7 Things to Hate

29 May

God’s Word:  Proverbs 6:16-19

God’s Message to Me:

Hate is a pretty strong word–reserved for those actions that destroy relationships.  I created relationships between people to share love and encouragement.  These seven do the opposite.  Hate them as I do!

1. Eyes that are arrogant!  Arrogance places self above others.  Jesus came to earth to serve others. Hate arrogance!

2. A tongue that lies! Avoid lying at all costs—even if it costs you your life.  If a person will lie for you—he will lie against you.  Lie’s are created to protect and elevate self. Hate lying!

3. Hands that murder the innocent!   Is the unborn baby not the chief of all innocent?  To take away an innocent life is done merely for selfish gain.  It leads to all other sorts of evil.  Hate murder!

4. A heart that hatches evil plots! And what is behind these evil plots?  Selfish gain.  It is a poison that grows and overtakes the whole life and destroys scores of others.  Hate scheming!

5. Feet that run down a wicked track! Why would a person choose this track?  For selfish gain—no other reason.  It matters not to them how many others are destroyed in the process.  Hate wickedness!

6. A mouth that lies under oath! The oath exists to cause people to tell the absolute truth.  To lie under oath is a vile sin—done to selfishly cover up the truth.  Hate dishonesty!

7. A troublemaker in the family!  Because I created the family to be a haven of love and protection, I especially loathe with a passion the disruption of the family circle.  Hate troublemaking!

Do not HATE the one who does these things but hate the action.  Examine yourself to see if any of these actions have crept into your life and change your ways immediately.  Do all in your power to stand up against those who do such things.  Overcome evil with GOOD!

God’s Question to Me:  Will you hate evil?

God’s Promise to Me:  My love cover over a multitude of sins!

My Song to God:   We’ve a Story to Tell         by H. Ernest Nichol  1896

We’ve a story to tell to the nations,
That shall turn their hearts to the right,
A story of truth and mercy,
A story of peace and light,
A story of peace and light.

Refrain

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a song to be sung to the nations,
That shall lift their hearts to the Lord,
A song that shall conquer evil
And shatter the spear and sword,
And shatter the spear and sword.

Refrain

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a message to give to the nations,
That the Lord who reigns up above
Has sent us His Son to save us,
And show us that God is love,
And show us that God is love.

Refrain

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a Savior to show to the nations,
Who the path of sorrow has trod,
That all of the world’s great peoples
Might come to the truth of God,
Might come to the truth of God.

Refrain

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth,
The kingdom of love and light.
