Get a Grip

1 May

God’s Word:  Proverbs 3:3,4,

God’s Message to Me:

Life holds out to you many choices.  There are some things so valuable, so important; it is imperative that you get a firm grip on them.  All your searching and reaching is in vain if you don’t grasp firmly onto love and loyalty.  Those are the Siamese twins of lasting relationships.  Love covers over a multitude of “faults,” and loyalty holds you true in your relationships through thick and thin.

When you take a vow and put on a wedding ring—love and loyalty will see you through.  A wedding vow is the same as a tattoo on your heart—a permanent tattoo.  But unless you get a firm grip on love and loyalty you may throw in the towel when the hard times come.  But the tattoo remains.  In My sight you were permanently wed to your spouse.  This is My plan—one man, one woman, until death do you part.

Marriage isn’t the only relationship where love and loyalty are vital.  These traits should ooze from your very being.  Whatever you do, wherever you go—your reputation must be marked by love and loyalty.  I gave you My love and loyalty when Jesus gave his life to purchase your redemption.  You show your love and loyalty to Me when you extend these virtues to others—all others.

God’s Question for Me:  Is your life a testimony of love and loyalty in all your relationships?

God’s Promise to Me:  When you choose to accept Jesus as sent from Me, and give yourself to following in His steps, you can consider that I have tattooed your initials on My heart.

My Song to God:          Pass It On        by Kurt Kaiser

It only takes a spark to get a fire going,
And soon all those around can warm up in its glowing;
That’s how it is with God’s Love,
Once you’ve experienced it,
Your spread the love to everyone
You want to pass it on.

What a wonderous time is spring,
When all the tress are budding
The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming;
That’s how it is with God’s love,
Once you’ve experienced it.
You want to sing, it’s fresh like spring,
You want to pass it on.

I wish for you my friend
This happiness that I’ve found;
You can depend on God
It matters not where you’re bound,
I’ll shout it from the mountain top – PRAISE GOD!
I want the world to know
The Lord of love has come to me
I want to pass it on.

I’ll shout it from the mountain top – PRAISE GOD!
I want the world to know
The Lord of love has come to me
I want to pass it on.
