Circle of Life

22 Mar

God’s Word:  Matthew 6:30-33   Jesus said, “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do His best for you?  What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving.  People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works.  Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.  Don’t worry about missing out.  You’ll find all your everyday human concerns met.”

Jesus’ Message to Me: (My interpretation of what Jesus is saying to me through these verses)

God’s love for you is reflected in the beauty of the flowers. They are part of his circle of life that revolves just for humanity—to provide for your very life and breath.  The flowers, the trees, the insects, the animals, the water, the seasons, the oceans are all part of God’s circle of life.  He didn’t provide all this just to make a habitat for the animals but to make a habitat for mankind.

God’s part is to care for you—your part is to trust in His care.  When things are going well in your circle of life you are relaxed.  But once things go haywire you tense up, begin fussing and seem to forget that God is there, working in your circle, just as before.  Your part is to relax and trust in Him to show you the next step to take.  Quit your fussing—begin your trusting!  Nothing is too difficult for God.

God sent Me to earth to demonstrate the extreme He would go to care for you.  When you allow God to direct your life you will find that your circle is richer, fuller, and so much more peaceful.  With God at your side you are able to go through the bumps of life, remembering He is right at your side to travel with you through thick and thin.  No matter what happens—His peace gives you grace, guidance and wonderful peace—peace that passes understanding.

Jesus’ Question for Me: Have you chosen to include Me in your circle of life?

Jesus’ Promise to Me:  With Me at your side your circle of love will be unbroken and last through all of time and eternity.

My Song to Jesus:  Peace, Peace, Wonderful Peace!    Words written by Warren D Cornell and music by W. George Cooper in 1889 when they were at a Methodist Camp Meeting.

Far away in the depths of my spirit tonight
Rolls a melody sweeter than psalm;
In celestial strains it unceasingly falls
O’er my soul like an infinite calm.

Refrain

Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!

What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace,
Buried deep in the heart of my soul,
So secure that no power can mine it away,
While the years of eternity roll!

Refrain

I am resting tonight in this wonderful peace,
Resting sweetly in Jesus’ control;
For I’m kept from all danger by night and by day,
And His glory is flooding my soul!

Refrain

And I think when I rise to that city of peace,
Where the Anchor of peace I shall see,
That one strain of the song which the ransomed will sing
In that heavenly kingdom will be:

Refrain

Ah, soul! Are you here without comfort and rest,
Marching down the rough pathway of time?
Make Jesus your Friend ere the shadows grow dark;
O accept of this peace so sublime!

Refrain
