Just Say NO!

God’s Word: James 4

God’s Message to Me: (My interpretation of what God is saying to me through these verses)

The lure of self-gratification is the basis of so much wrong in the world.  Giving into this lure in one area of your life spills over into all other areas and will wreck havoc in all your relationships.  My Word provides the antidote for this self-seeking mentality—and it also provides the healing balm once the damage has been done.  Because of the choices you make—you will have to live with the consequences.  Apply the healing balm to your life by reading My Word and meditating on its teaching.  There are supernatural powers flowing through My Word. You hold the key to unlocking that power.

Parents, set a good example and train your children in how to avoid bad choices by teaching them the life-giving principles in My Word.  It is so much easier to avoid those choices than to pick up the pieces and try to mend a life once the bad choice has been made.  It follows you all the days of your life.

Just say NO to the devil and watch him scamper.  Say YES to Me and I’ll be right at your side.  Quit dabbling in sin.  Purify your inner life for out of that flows the wellspring of life.  I’m here and anxious to help you get back on your feet but you first have to get up on your knees in humble submission to My Word and Way.

God’s Question for Me: Will you exchange self-gratification—which is self-destruction, for my peace and love that will give you the strength to live for others instead of self?

God’s Promise to Me: If you know the right thing to do and refuse to do it—that for you, is evil.

My Prayer to God:

Adoration:  I gratefully acknowledge that it was Your leading that prevented me from getting involved in the evils of the world.  You provided me parents with morals that guided my steps and helped keep me on the straight and narrow.

Confession:  You know I have certainly had my share of straying from Your straight and narrow and am sorry I ever doubted you for an instant.  You have proven Yourself to be true to Your Word and so faithful in Your love for me.

Thanksgiving:  I’m so thankful for the husband you provided for me—knowing my bent to explore and expand on the straight and narrow.  He has been the perfect balance for me.  Thank you—a million times over.

Supplication:  Please help me to put Your Word into daily practice in all that I say and do.  How I long for others to see the beauty of Jesus visibly through me.  I am helpless apart from your intervention.

My Song to God:

When Mr. Satan knocks at my hearts door,

And says, “May I come in?”

I say, No, No for Jesus loves me so,

And took away my sin!

So he turns around and runs away,

I wish he’s go away to stay.

When Mr. Satan knocks at my hearts door,

I just say NO, NO, NO!

NO-NO,  NO-NO, NO-NO!
