Through It All!

God’s Word: II Thessalonians 1

God’s Message to Me: (My interpretation of what God is saying to me through these verses)

I know you have had the thought “What did I do to deserve all this trouble?  Life isn’t fair!  Why God, Why?”  Jesus could have had those same thoughts as he was publicly beaten, spat upon, and nailed to a cross.  He certainly didn’t deserve that. . .it wasn’t fair. . .BUT he knew why it was happening.  That made the difference for Him.

Some troubles come into your life because of choices you made—so there is your why answer.  Others come just because one of my laws of nature was violated—two opposing objects cannot occupy the same spot at the same time.  Others are truly unfair because of murder or disease.  No one deserves that but that is part and parcel of living life on earth.  Death and disease entered the world when Adam and Eve chose to disobey my perfect plan—and mankind have all followed in their footsteps.

But I do not leave you alone to suffer through all the pain and sorrow life may hand you.  I am there with you, suffering with you.  I feel your pain and as you draw near to Me, I draw near to you.  My peace will wash over your pain and give relief so you can endure.  And be comforted to know that I will settle accounts with those who have unfairly caused you pain and grief.  Don’t take that resentment upon yourself because it hurts only yourself—spiritually, mentally and physically.  Just leave it to Me.  I am with you through it all!

God’s Question for Me: Will you turn over to Me your pain and sorrow and let Me comfort you?

God’s Promise to Me: I will not let you be tempted beyond what you can endure!

My Prayer to God:

Adoration:  How blessed it is to know that whatever tomorrow holds, you will be right there beside me—through whatever it is.  I take such great comfort and hope in that.

Confession:  I am so sorry for the anxiety I allow into my body by worrying about the future, what may or may not happen.  It is so fruitless and only destroys my health.  I know I can trust you to be there with me through it all.

Thanksgiving:  You have certainly been with us through it all—for all the years of our lives.  Pains have been healed, sorrows lifted, crisis’ managed, and financial ruin avoided.  Thank you for the assurance that You will be there for all our tomorrows—come what may.

Supplication: Please guide me in my life choices and fill me with Your energy so that all my efforts at living will amount to something—for Your Kingdom.  I want to honor You in all I say and do—whether through my living or my dying—I am Yours.

My Song to God:
I’ve had many tears and sorrows,
I’ve had questions for tomorrow,
there’s been times I didn’t know right from wrong.
But in every situation,
God gave me blessed consolation,
that my trials come to only make me strong.

Through it all,
through it all,
I’ve learned to trust in Jesus,
I’ve learned to trust in God.

Through it all,
through it all,
I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.

Verse 2
I’ve been to lots of places,
I’ve seen a lot of faces,
there’s been times I felt so all alone.
But in my lonely hours,
yes, those precious lonely hours,
Jesus lets me know that I was His own

Verse 3
I thank God for the mountains,
and I thank Him for the valleys,
I thank Him for the storms He brought me through.
For if I’d never had a problem,
I wouldn’t know God could solve them,
I’d never know what faith in God could do.
