What’s Your Echo?

God’s Word:I Thessalonians 1

God’s Message to Me: (My interpretation of what God is saying to me through these verses)

What you give—you get returned.  Echo’s are the return for your investment.  Are you investing your life giving your best effort in things that will produce a crop of positive influence in your world?  Look forward in time and see what echoes will reverberate from the efforts of your life. If you like the sound you hear than keep doing what you are doing.  If you don’t hear any sounds then make some changes in what you are investing your life doing.

Your life is My investment in you.  I am listening for the echoes that return to Me.  The strongest echoes are those that come from investing your life in “doing unto others as you would do unto Me.”  That is the purest motive there is.  You are not investing merely to evangelize who you deem to be “the lost,” but simply doing your best as unto Me.  If others are drawn to Me through your kindnesses—great!  But don’t do your kindnesses just for the response.  Do them for Me.  You be my hands and feet of kindness to every person your life touches.

It does not take great and mighty deeds done before large crowds of people to create a pleasing echo from your life to My heart.  Your simple kindness to a flustered clerk in the store is an important to me as feeding the hungry.  Who you are and what you do when you think no one is noticing—those are the things that create the largest echoes in My heart.  My Word, fleshed out in your life and reflected in your deeds of kindness—ahh, that is a beautiful echo to Me.

God’s Question for Me: What echoes will you choose to send to My heart today?

God’s Promise to Me: I love you very much and have My hand on your life for a special purpose.

My Prayer to God:

Adoration:  The beauty of Your Word shines through when we focus on it and let you speak additional words of inspiration and understanding.  To the person who claims they have read the Bible and they don’t need to read it again—they simply don’t get it.  They don’t realize that the real beauty of your words comes as you speak to my heart between the lines. Your Word is alive with YOU and we are blest to interact with you as we interact with the Bible.

Confession:  How sad that I ever worry or fret about things in this life instead of letting you calm my fears through your Words of comfort and peace.  I don’t need to know what tomorrow holds because I know You hold all my tomorrows in Your hand and will take me safely home when this life is o’re.  I want to live this life more as a pilgrim and less as land owner.

Thanksgiving:  Thank You God for being so available, day or night, to interact with me through Your Words.  Thank you for the words of understanding that you give me between the lines of Your Word.  That is precious to my heart.  I need You every hour.

Supplication:  I want to invest my life in doing things for others that will create a continuous echo of delight to your heart.  I ask for your wisdom and guidance as I make daily choices about the use of my time.  I want to be a pleasing echo of Your love in my world to those people you have placed in my path.  You are my strength and my shield.

My Song to God:

I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
“Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.”

Refrain:
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

I’ll go with Him through the waters,
I’ll go with Him through the waters,
I’ll go with Him through the waters,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

I’ll go with Him to dark Calv’ry,
I’ll go with Him to dark Calv’ry,
I’ll go with Him to dark Calv’ry,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

I’ll go with Him to the judgment,
I’ll go with Him to the judgment,
I’ll go with Him to the judgment,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.
