Trust and Obey

God’s Word: Genesis 22

God’s message to me:

A single act of obedience has far-reaching effects.  It did for Abraham and it does for you.  What you do and say, others are observing.  Your life is an open book for others to read at will.  Are they being drawn to Me through your words and deeds?  So live that your first impulse is obedience—no questions asked.  That is the kind of obedience that I bless and multiply.  How many scores of blessings are left untouched because you did not obey?

I have untold blessings that I long to share with you but you refuse to receive them by your lack of obedience.  Give Me your paradigm for life and let me expand your borders and see things that are beyond your normal range of vision.  That is the range where the blessings overflow with waiting to be bestowed.  Too often you refuse to even try to stretch yourself for Me, only reaching for what you suppose is reachable.  I can expand your reach into heights you have never even considered.

Like I blessed Abraham, I am longing to bless scores upon scores of people through blessings that I long to pour into your life.  I cannot, unless you are willing to receive, obey, and serve as a channel of My love and compassion.  I desire to bless you beyond your wildest imagination and expand your territory of influence—if you will simply obey.

God’s Question for me:

Will you allow Me to bless others through your life as you submit to Me in obedience?

God’s Promise to me:

I will open doors you never even noticed when you begin to respond in obedience.

My prayer to God:

I praise you for your wisdom that chooses to use those who obey to bless others lives.

I am sorry that I have been unwilling to expand my vision and see your best for my life.

Thank you that it is never too late to reach new heights of service in your kingdom.

Help me even today to listen to your voice speaking to my heart and to simply OBEY!

My Song to God:  Trust and Obey

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
