Fresh Breath of Spring

God’s Word: Psalms 147

God’s Attribute: God heals the brokenhearted and rebuilds lives.

God’s Message to me:

Are you brokenhearted? I am near to comfort and cheer. There was never a broken heart that I could not mend.  That does not mean you will not have pain.  When your heart is broken—it hurts deeply—and for a long time.  But if you will invite me to help you bear the pain and heal it—I am eager to do so.  As you do not understand how the seasons can come and go, you will not understand how I can possibly heal your broken heart.  But I can and I will.  I don’t want you to suffer endlessly.  It damages your health, your relationships with people and even with Me.

Your broken heart can be likened to the seasons.  A freshly broken heart experiences the desolation of winter—cold—gloomy—dreary—bleak.  It feels like winter will never be over.  But as I have promised that the earth’s seasons will always come and go, I also promise that the pain of a broken heart will come and go.  I know you think you can never be happy again but I will bring you through that winter of pain and spring will gradually come to your heart.  It will get better—if you will let me walk beside you and hold your hand.

When you feel like your life is ruined—take heart—I specialize in rebuilding lives. In the same way that I bring spring to a cold winter, I will rebuild your life.  But I can’t do it apart from your cooperation.   Lean on me when you’re not strong.  I have limitless strength to share with you.  You can depend upon my strength to carry you through the many winters that pass through your life and always—I will give you the fresh breath of spring.

God’s Question for me:

When your heart is broken will you allow me to give you the strength to pass through this season of sadness and bring you into another spring of hope?

God’s Promise to me:

Come unto me all who are brokenhearted, and I will give you rest.

My Song to God:

When in the spring, the flowers are blooming bright and fair,
After the grey of winter’s gone.
Once again the lark begins his tuning,
Back in the meadows of my heart.

Chorus
Lord, to my heart bring back the springtime.
Take away the cold and dark of pain.
And, Oh refill me now, sweet Holy Spirit:
May I warm and tender be again.

Lord, make me like that stream that flows so cool and clear
Down from the mountains high above;
I will tell the world the wondrous story
Of the precious stream filled with your Love.

Chorus
Lord, to my heart bring back the springtime.
Take away the cold and dark of pain.
And, Oh refill me now, sweet Holy Spirit:
May I warm and tender be again.
