God Hears

God’s Word: Psalms 141

God’s Attribute: God opens his ears to our voice.

God’s Message to me:

As a parent, what most gets your attention, the whining child or the grateful one?  It’s no different with Me.  When a child whines to get what they want the parent often says “I can’t hear you.”  It’s not that they can’t hear, but they choose not to respond.  It’s the same with Me.

You think you do, but you don’t really want Me to respond to all your requests.  Your requests are looking at your life from a single direction.  I can see your whole life, from beginning to end and am well aware that some of your requests are not at all what you really want—could you see the end result.  I understand that you think you know what is best for your life—but be assured that I always have your best interests in mind.  There is a silver lining to every cloud of gloom that overtakes you.

When you pray, asking to be delivered from evil, you must display some effort to remove yourself from it—not expecting Me to do it for you.  A child says to the parent “help me” but the parent knows the child needs to learn by doing it themselves.  Yes, I hear your cries for help and My help is given but not always in the way you are requesting.  You can trust Me to be there for you but I will not do it all for you.

God’s Question for me:

Will you work as though it all depended upon you but trust knowing it all really depends upon Me?

God’s Promise to me:

You can depend upon Me to be there for you in your times of need.

My Song to God:

Our Father, Who Art in Heaven
Hallowed be, Thy Name
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be Done
On earth, as it is, in Heaven

Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory forever
Amen
