God’s Word: Psalms 136

God’s Attribute: His love never quits!

God’s Message to me:

I payed it forward when I formed the cosmos, laid our earth on ocean foundations, filled the skies with light, gave the sun to watch over the day and the moon and stars as guardians of the night.  Not only did I speak this all into being but I am aware of each movement on the earth—of all creatures and all mankind.  I am watching over you and caring for you through each and every season of your life.

And through it all—my love never quits.  I rescue, I strike down, and I take care of you in your time of need.  Your idea of “take care of you” may be different from mine.  You wish I would just remove all your times of pain and need.  I have reserved that benefit for eternity in my presence, together with those who have looked to me and my Word to pattern their lives after.

Tastes of heaven on earth I give freely to those who follow in my steps of paying it forward by doing for others that which you wish done for you.  No, don’t wait for someone to do something good for you and then pay it back.  You take the initiative and pay it forward—with no ulterior motive at all.  That my friend of a taste of heaven.

God’s Question for me:

I set the example of “paying it forward,” now will you choose to live selflessly for others?

God’s Promise to me:

My love will never quit.

My Song to God:

Out in the highways and byways of life,

Many are weary and sad:

Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,

Making the sorrowing glad.

Make me a blessing, make me a blessing!

Out of my life—may Jesus shine;

Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray,

Make me a blessing to someone today.
